First of all, I would like to wish you a very happy Samhain Weekend!! It really is the best time of year.
It has been a busy week in the new workshop. New Wands and creating stock for the upcoming Ottawa Comiccon:Holiday Edition.
As well, some updates about a very special small batch.......
These days without Hawkeye have been difficult to say the least. But I am excited to say that a new Flatcoated litter from our trusted breeder arrived a few weeks ago. We were able to meet with mom just around the time of knowing for certain with the first ultrasound. Mom and pups are doing well! Obviously much sooner of a transition than I anticipated, but I am excited to welcome a new best friend. It has certainly been a test in patience…. More news to come, and pictures. What a ride life is.
Turns out that the large slab that I initially thought was Maple, is actually different types of Oak. The slab had such a density and colouring to it due to long term storage before I received it, that at first glance through the dust, it looked like Maple. Not that I’m complaining, because we remember one of the laws of Wandsmithing- “if you receive Oak that has time and a story to it, take it and run!” I’m attempting to track down exactly where it came from. The bulb design is one that I enjoy to create with thicker pieces, as it is surprisingly very comfortable to hold and creates a well balanced weight in the hand and subsequently provides an unexpectedly elegant feel. This grouping has just been placed online. While an earlier group addition, the new Veil Collection is still online, however only a few left at this moment.
I hope you have a fantastic Weekend!
