-=Obituary Wood Lathe=-

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing over of the McCormick Wands Lathe, with an unknown final age at his passing. Some say he worked on various historical projects such as table legs on the Titanic, wood accents in Westminster Abbey, bowls in Napoleon’s army… while other tales suggest he was even old enough to work on wooden toggles on Jesus’s sandals. Cranky on the best of days, he did enjoy spending quality time in the workshop with select few, helping its owners learn new vulgarities. In his journey through life as a Wand lathe, he was directly responsible for creating over 10 000 wands under my supervision. He will be missed. He leaves behind an equally elderly sander/grinder and numerous chisels and skews of whom he cherished deeply.

I leave you with lyrics from one of his favourite songs,

“To everything turn, turn, turn

There is a season turn, turn, turn

And a time to every purpose……”
